"Share the Hope"
The Board of Directors, health practitioners, participants, volunteers and supporters of Wellspring of Life Farm cordially invite you to join us in the call to “Share the Hope.” We seek to raise awareness and support for those in our community experiencing cognitive, emotional and physical challenges especially our active duty military members, veterans, first responders, teens and families.
Wellspring of Life Farm, Inc. is a 501c(3) nonprofit that was founded in 2017 by Dr. and Mrs. Leung as a direct result of years of service witnessed and fulfilled by family and friends. This Legacy of Service instilled in them the desire to continue the commitment to faithfulness and honor. Mrs. Leung’s beloved grandfather Colonel Justice M. Chambers received the Medal of Honor for his brave actions during World War II. Over 20 family members followed his call to serve including their adult children presently serving in the Army and Coast Guard.
In our first operational year in 2019, we have been honored to serve with over 60 volunteers who have given their time and talents to supporting programs working alongside occupational therapists, physical therapists, counselors and educators to assist participants ranging in age from 3 years old to over 60 years. Participants in our programs experiences include various levels along the autism spectrum, muscular dystrophy, Parkinsons, depression, ADHD, cerebral palsy, anxiety and PTS. As of December, we have been blessed to partner with over 27 participants who have sought support through weekly equine therapeutic programs to reach goals ranging from physical abilities, attention, focus, confidence, strength and overall wellbeing through interacting with compassionate therapy horses and health practitioners.
We are excited to announce our Heroes, Horses, Hounds © program specifically designed for our active duty military members, veterans, first responders and their families. The program is designed with the direct input of veterans and will be launched in January 2020 with the support of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) and Wounded Warriors as well as several other organizations who will be funding our Heroes. Our canine therapeutic program will also be launched in winter of 2020.
Although we have achieved a number of accomplishments this year, we know that there continues to be a great need among those serving and their families. With this in mind, Wellspring of Life Farm is looking to create partnerships with local health organizations to become a direct outpatient referral site. Our fundraising campaign seeks to combat this growing need by expanding our facilities and programs.
We have enclosed opportunities for you to join our community of suppot as we seek to encourage, empower, and connect with those in need.
